Window Film Warranty Overview
This document outlines the official warranty terms for professionally installed window films by Umbrella Smart Window Film Corp. and KDX-certified installers trained under the supervision of Umbrella Smart Window Film Corp. and KDX.
Warranty coverage depends on installation type (Interior / Exterior) and film category (Security / Solar). All warranties are valid only when installation is performed by certified installers trained and approved by Umbrella Smart Window Film Corp. and KDX.
Interior Installation

Interior-installed films offer superior durability due to reduced exposure to harsh environmental conditions.
Security Films
- Warranty Coverage: Lifetime (for the original property owner)
- Coverage is non-transferable to new property owners.
- Protected against: Cracking, Peeling or delamination, Discoloration, Permanent bubbling, Loss of adhesive strength
- Warranty is valid only when installed by certified Umbrella-trained or KDX-certified installers.
Solar / Sun Control Films
- Warranty Coverage: 10 years to Lifetime, depending on product class
- Non-transferable to future property owners
- Warranty includes: Color stability, Heat rejection performance, UV protection stability, No peeling bubbling or film failure
- Warranty is valid only when installed by certified Umbrella-trained or KDX-certified installers.
Exterior Installation
(Outside Surface of Glass)
Exterior-installed films are engineered for full exposure to weather, UV, and temperature fluctuation. Warranty duration is naturally shorter.
Exterior Security Films
- Warranty Coverage: 5 years
- Protection Includes: Adhesion retention, No severe degradation, No significant optical distortion
- Valid only under certified installation by Umbrella-trained or KDX-certified installers.
Exterior Solar / Sun Control Films
- Warranty Coverage: 2 to 5 years
- Protection Includes: UV resistance, Surface durability, Controlled color fading, Heat rejection performance
- Installation must be performed by approved installers under Umbrella or KDX certification.
Warranty Activation
Requirements
- Installation must be done exclusively by certified installers trained by Umbrella Smart Window Film Corp. and officially certified by KDX.
- No ammonia-based cleaning during the first 30 days.
- Do not scratch, scrape, or apply force to the film.
- Full curing time must be respected (varies by climate).
- Any concerns must be reported promptly for inspection.
